Afton and her sweethearts

I had the best time taking photos for Afton and her little sweeties the other day in my studio. A Mother’s Day mini session was perfect for this lovely mama and her growing crew. Jack and McKenna are absolutely adorable, and I am so thrilled for the family, who is planning to welcome another family member later this year. Congratulations on your impendng arrival, Afton, and thanks for coming over!

Grace and Kaitlyn love their mom!

Mother’s Day Mini sessions have been so much fun this month! This was one of my absolute favorites. Tracey, Grace, and Kaitlyn were just wonderful, and we had a great time getting to know each other when they stopped by my studio last week. Maybe it was the fact that Grace and Kaitlyn remind me SO MUCH of my own two little girls, or that they were both super cooperative top models, or that these three beautiful ladies didn’t stop smiling and laughing and enjoying each other’s company our entire time together. Whatever the reason, I can’t get enough of these photos! Thanks so much for coming by, Tracey. I loved meeting you and the girls, and hope to see you all around soon.

Jack

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of getting to know Jack when he stopped by my studio for senior portraits. I had a feeling Jack would be super impressive, since I have met his mother and am in constant awe of her. I was right: he’s a mega talented chamber singer and history buff who is heading to Columbia this Fall to complete a duel BA program, the first half of which takes place at Sciences Pro in Reimes, France. If that isn’t awesome enough, Jack decided to make his photo shoot the coolest ever by pulling out his guitar and playing for me and his mom while I snapped pictures. He regaled us with tunes from “Landslide” (my favorite) to the “Friends” theme song, after I referenced it to try and explain my husband’s awful 90s poses in his senior pictures. (Very funny, Jack.) Sara and Alex, you have one heck of a kid. So polite, fun, and interesting, I wish him all the best on this next big adventure. Thanks for having me capture these fun portraits.

Fun with Nana

I was so happy to capture some special photos with this awesome family last Sunday afternoon. Everyone was in town for Aly’s First Communion, and it was a BIG weekend, so I feel honored that they made time for me! We had gorgeous weather to explore Olive Park together, and had a lot of laughs. As always, Aly and Keira were top models…I just can’t get enough of those two little sisters.  It was wonderful to see you again Jamie, Jason, Aly, Keira, and David, and it was so nice to meet you, Karen and Denise! You have a lovely family, and it’s always a pleasure.

We Love You, Oskar

Lucy really debated whether to take maternity photos. As a superstitious person myself, trust me, I get the hesitation. But, for so many reasons, we were all very thankful we captured these memories for this amazing family last Sunday. A day later, their beloved dog, Oskar, unexpectedly passed away. Everyone is heartbroken by this loss. I know what a special member of the family Oskar was, and I only hope these sweet pictures will bring a little bit of comfort. We had a beautiful morning together, enjoying a picture-perfect Spring day in Highland Park. Leo was a total star, per usual, and gave me some of his best smiles ever. And Lucy, you look gorgeous! I am so excited to meet the newest addition to your family later this year. I’ll be thinking of your family during this time of big changes, and wishing you all the best.
