Magic

This vacation was a moment that had been in the making for a year…and hoped for much longer than that.  “A dream is a wish your heart makes,” indeed. We started with four days in Captiva, FL for our annual beach fix, and then headed to Orlando to dip our toes into the Disney waters for the first time with kids. My expectations for this very special trip soared higher than Cinderella’s castle. And, you guys…it didn’t disappoint. Our time in Captiva couldn’t have been better. From the gorgeous weather, to the sun, surf, sand, and abundance of smiles…it was perfection. My two little beach bums filled my heart with joy as their excitement at being in a place I love more than anything once again abounded. Then, we were off to Disney to hang at the Magic Kingdom for two days. We met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Pooh, Tigger, Chip and Dale, and the look on Eloise and Mae’s faces alone was worth the price of admission. There were the rides and scenes Mike and I remembered loving as kids, as well as a lot of new treats (Dole Whip! The hype is REAL!). Sharing this special moment with my parents, who had taken me and my sister to Disney as kids, was priceless. I am so thankful. My heart is so full. MAGIC.

Happy Birthday, Tali!

Tali’s birthday party is one of my favorite events every year. Why? Because her mom does such an outstanding job of planning special parties for her little sweetie filled with thoughtful details and lots of love. This year, Tali picked a Rock n’ Roll Spa theme. I know I say this every year, but this one was my favorite yet! The ball room at the Bryn Mawr Country Club was filled with different spa stations for Tali and her girlfriends to enjoy, and at every station was a sweet touch. Personalized flip flops at the pedicure station, nail polish sets at the manicure station, personalized brushes at the hair extension station, wax hands at the “paraffin” station. There were also oatmeal face masks, to complete their pampering, and a DJ who ran hoola hoop, cup stacking, and limbo contests and kept everyone dancing the entire time. Judith…you’ve outdone yourself once again. Thank you for including my Eloise in the fun! She hasn’t stopped talking about it. And neither have I. It’s such an honor to watch your family grow up. I was struck by how much older Tali looked in all of these photos. Happy Birthday, Tali! I loved celebrating with you!

Welcome, Isabelle!

Baby Isabelle may only be 5 weeks old, but she is undoubtedly a top model, already. She gave me all of her best poses (from alert to smiling to…not smiling!), and demonstrated a plethora of adorable, peaceful sleeping positions. (Makes you want to curl up and take a nap on a rainy day, doesn’t it?!) I just couldn’t get enough of her sweetness! Congratulations, Tricia and Jonathan! Isabelle is perfection. I had a wonderful time meeting you three. Enjoy this special time.

Will and Luke explore the Riverwalk

I can’t believe how big my buddies Will and Luke have grown since our last photo session! They are so adorable, and were complete top models as we explored the Chicago Riverwalk together on a very bright, very hot morning a week ago. I love this backdrop, especially in the morning, because there is so much fun variety and light crowds. It was wonderful catching up with you, Kristen and Adam! Thanks for a great time.

We Love JellyBean Sports!

I’m just going to take a moment to gush. For the past 6 months, Mae and I have been LOVING her JellyBean Sports classes. I can’t say enough about the curriculum and coaching. It’s the perfect way to introduce little ones to a variety of sports, teach them the basics in a fun, kid-friendly way, and keep them running and smiling the entire time. All of the parents in the class are in awe of Coach Speedy. His friendly personality is a magnet for our little ones. Mae (who is a very serious athlete…can’t you tell?!) absolutely adores him, and practices raising her “mano” and shouting “Aquí!” at home like she does during roll call every class. Even Eloise, who is almost 6, loves Coach Speedy and his classes. This class has been such a joy that I decided to bring “my big camera” a few weeks ago to capture some candid moments. Well…my plan backfired, because as soon as the kids saw the camera, they just wanted to mug for it! It was a total distraction…sorry, Coach Speedy! But I did manage to capture some of the sweet moments and smiles that are characteristic of every class.

I love JellyBean Sports so much that I am running a summer promotion for JellyBean families from now through August 31st. Email me at jensoaresphotography@gmail.com and mention “Coach Speedy” to receive your discounted portrait package!
