Sweetheart Minis!

Sweetheart-Minis-for-webHappy New Year, friends! How is it February already?! 2018 is off to a quick start. I have many fun shoots and new offerings this year for JSP, and I’m excited to share them with you. To kick the year off right, I’m hosting a block of mini sessions on Sunday, Feb. 18th. Here are the details:

Who: Adorable, smiley, cuddly, sweet clients…and me + my camera!

What: 20 minute sessions, 10 retouched digital images (+full rights) for $170

When: Sunday, Feb. 18th from 9AM-11AM

Where: Jenn Shaffer Photography Studio, 2908 W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago

I need at least THREE families to make this a go, so the first three clients to book will get an extra 5 digital images and a discount to purchase a brag book. It’s a great deal, and it’ll be a fun time, so pass along this info to anyone you know who is engaged and looking for a few cute save-the-date images, or has a newborn, or a child with a spring birthday, or just wants some fresh, sweet moments captured for their family.

Email me at jensoaresphotography@gmail.com with questions or to reserve your spot today. Hope to see many of you there!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year

HohohoforwebMe (at “Breakfast with Santa” last weekend): “Eloise! You really shouldn’t be naughty when Santa is RIGHT HERE!”

Eloise: “Mom…it’s OK. I’m already on his Nice List. And he uses pen.”

Mike and I are having a complete blast with these two girls this holiday season. We wish you a joyful holiday, and a safe and happy end to 2017.

Wrapping up 2017

2017 blog-1And that’s a wrap for 2017! The past month and a half has been a complete whirlwind…the busiest holiday card season I have had in the 10+ years that I have been lucky enough to own this business. I have been postponing sneak peeks for individual sessions in order to have enough time to deliver photos for my November and December clients. That said, we had such a great time during these sessions, and I really love all of the happy, cuddly, special photos so much that I wanted to share just a few of them with you.

To all of my clients: thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me to capture special moments for your family. I continue to be honored to do so. Whether we met for the first time this year, or caught up as old friends, I have loved seeing you all. Watching your families grow over the years and getting to know you all on a personal level brings me more joy than I can say. I LOVE all of the holiday cards you have sent (my favorite part of the holiday season!), and wish everyone only the best in 2018. Hopefully we will get to catch up again in the new year to create more memories together.

Holiday Studio Mini Sessions

Studio Mini Blog-1Oh goodness, I am so behind with blog posts! Getting everyone what they need quickly to order holiday cards and gifts has consumed every extra waking minute lately. But I have been having so much fun taking holiday photos and catching up with some of my favorite families, that I want to share a few smiles with you. Starting with holiday studio mini sessions! My friend, Jenn Shaffer, was generous enough to share her space with us again this year. It’s magic for the kiddos…everyone always has the best time there! Jenn, your tree and star backdrops were adorable…thanks for sharing your talent with us, too. Those backdrops inspired me to put together my own holiday themed setup this year, as well, so we all had a very holly jolly morning! I’d like to say a great big THANK YOU to Amy, David, Katherine, Jenn, Avery, Grayson, Amy, Joe, Jackson, Abby, Jennifer, Damon, Samantha, Haley, Nicholas, Jenn, Rashad, Jaelyn, and Ariana for being on time, cheerful, smiley, and so much fun. You all made the day a great one, and I am honored to have captured special moments for all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving

Love

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”

-William Arthur Ward

As the craziness of this time of year swirls around me, I am grateful for the deep breath that Thanksgiving offers. It’s a reminder to put down my never-ending to-do list, crazy work schedule, school commitments, holiday planning, worries about the latest round of colds, all of the typical exhaustion and frustration, anxiety and chaos that comes with being a working mom with two little ones at home…and just be. Breathe. See. Appreciate. Because hidden by all of the everyday clutter are so many blessings. The smiles and hugs from little sisters. The warmth and safety of being together in our home. The sweet and fleeting, overwhelming and crazy moment of life that we are in. I am grateful for it all.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving filled with love, joy, and deep breaths.

So glad you take time to stop and take notice of all your blessings in life along the way! That’s so important. You never know what life is going to deal you. Also your children grow so fast and they’ll never be as young as they are now ever again. I kept telling my daughters that I wanted to dip them in paraffin so they wouldn’t grow as fast. What’s wonderful too, is when they marry and have children of their own, you get to enjoy your grandchildren often at a slower pace which is SUCH a blessing!!!

Jenny,
You write so beautifully and hit the nail on the head. Dad and I are so very thankful for you and your incredible family.
