Emma, Alex, and Bosco

I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad time with Becky, Ross, Emma, and Alex. I look forward to catching up with them every year for photos, not only because Emma and Alex are superstars and always have fun, active, happy ideas for poses that crack us all up, but also because these are four of the nicest, funniest, sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Bosco the dog joined us again this year, as well, and he, too, nailed his close-ups. He really doesn’t like being excluded from family shots! Thanks for a great time, guys!

Maggie and Gavin

Talk about variety! Gavin, Maggie, Heather, Kevin and I certainly made the most of our time together last weekend. In one hour we took pictures inside their home, in their backyard, and at two different neighborhood parks. WOW! There are so many photos I love from this session, I had trouble narrowing it down to just these for the sneak peek. It’s a true testament to the top model skills of Gavin and Maggie…they did a fantastic job in every setup, and all with smiles and laughs. I always have the best time with these four, and look forward to our sessions. It is hard to believe that I’ve been taking their photos since 2011 when Heather and Kevin were expecting Gavin. It’s been such a treat to document their family every year!

Baby Vivian

I have been so excited to meet Olivia’s new baby sibling since I took maternity photos for her family back in June. She’s finally here! Meet adorable Vivian. I was thrilled to visit with this sweet family last weekend and see the new sisters in action. Vivian clearly shares her big sis’s top model abilities…just two weeks old and smiling for the camera. And Olivia is an outstanding big sister already…always willing to share kisses and cuddles. I can already tell there are tons of laughs and adventures in their future together as a dynamic duo. Jackie and Bill, I am so happy for you. Congratulations on Vivian’s arrival, and thanks so much for having me over to capture this special time for you.

Madelyn and Porter at Independence Grove

Two years ago, when we moved from the city to the burbs, I was still finding my footing in our new neighborhood. I hadn’t found “my people” yet, and was discovering how hard it was to make new friends as an adult. Enter Stephanie. She struck up a conversation with me one random morning when we were both hanging out at the mall play space with our kiddos. Madelyn is Mae’s age, but she became fast friends with both Eloise and Mae. Steph invited me to a meeting with the mommy group she was a part of the following week, and the rest is history. I’ve met so many amazing women through that group. I have loved getting to know Stephanie and her adorable family, and was so honored when she asked me to take some updated family photos to commemorate Maddie and Porter’s recent milestone birthdays. How Madelyn is already three and baby Porter just turned one is beyond me! But I am so glad I get to watch them grow up. Eloise and Mae were not pleased when they found out I had my very own playdate with Miss Stephanie, Mr. Grady, Maddie, and Porter last week at Independence Grove without them. Sorry, kiddos…we will make sure to get you all together again, soon.  Thanks for braving the chilly morning with me, Stephanie and Grady! Your children are complete stars. I can’t get enough of their smiles!

Tyler and Ben at Lighthouse Beach

Dear Tyler and Ben,

Please stop growing up so fast! It feels like just a second ago that you were both babies. I have truly enjoyed watching the two of you grow up, and I love each of our sessions together. This year was no exception with all of the ninja jumps, races, and brotherly rough-housing as we explored Lighthouse Beach in Evaston together. If you insist on growing taller, I am going to have to bring a step stool for your photos next year. So, slow down a little bit, OK?!

Love,

Jen

PS: It was awesome, as always, seeing you again, Laura and Andy. So glad our rain backup date was perfection! You four are the best.
