The Four Year Old

Dear Eloise,

It’s impossible for me not to be emotional today. Because four years ago today, I heard you cry and held you for the first time. You are the child, darling girl, who made me a mom. For that incredible gift, as well as for your spirit, kindness, wit, and intelligence, I thank you. How four years have flown by so fast, I do not know. But I can tell you I have enjoyed every single moment with you. And I am so incredibly proud of the girl you are becoming. I can’t wait to celebrate all that you are today. Happy Birthday, Eloise Celeste! You are the light of my life.
